Geographical Area
The SPAR Community Health Board compromises all areas in and around the communities of Southampton, Five Islands, Parrsboro, Advocate and Apple River. Based on the 2006 census, Southampton, Parrsboro, Advocate and their surrounding regions have a population of 3,537.
Mission Statement
The Southampton, Parrsboro, Advocate and Regions Community Health Board will develop a community health plan through broad community participation and consultation. The plan will address unmet health needs and promote and improve the general health of community.
Vision
The vision for the SPAR CHB is to build a healthy community in which everyone – individuals, families, organizations and government – works together to improve quality of life for all by building on community strengths, assets, resources and capacities. A healthy community ensures that accessible and affordable primary care is available for all citizens of the area and that all residents understand the value of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Medication Information Cards
Look for our new Medication Information Cards in the community. This is the result of collaboration between all three community health boards in Cumberland County. These wallet-sized cards are to be completed by each individual and will keep an accurate record of current medications an individual is taking.

Meetings
The SPAR Community Health Board meets once monthly for two hours at the South Cumberland Care Centre for every month except July and August.
