All Saints Springhill Hospital (ASSH), located on Princess Street in the
historic former mining town of Springhill, has been serving the community
on the same site since 1893. The original cottage hospital was replaced
in 1963 with the current facility with the present building having undergone
a number of renovations and upgrades since that time to meet changing
health care needs.
ASSH currently provides ten restorative care beds based on an interdisciplinary,
goal-oriented rehabilitative program aimed at restoring patients to
their optimum level of function. In addition, eight transitional care
beds for patients awaiting placement and two palliative care beds are
located in the facility. Twenty-four-hour outpatient services, ambulatory
care clinics, outpatient restorative care and health promotion services
are supported by diagnostic services. ASSH also houses a collaborative
practice in which a nurse practitioner and two family physicians participate.
The facility also has a 10-bed inpatient addictions treatment program
as well as an outpatient addictions programs.
