Bayview Memorial Health Centre is located in the scenic village of Advocate
Harbour on Cumberland County's western shore. In addition to the services
required to support the facility's long-term care residents, Bayview Memorial
Health Centre has an out-patient department that services this area of
the province.
Bayview Memorial Health Centre has been serving Advocate Harbour since
1945 with the present facility opening in 1989. It is a single-story,
10 bed facility that includes 8 long term care beds.
The community of Advocate recently became one of eleven sites in the
province of Nova Scotia to enter into a collaborative practice arrangement
with a physician and a nurse practitioner. Other services provided include
laboratory, dietary, asthma clinic, physiotherapy and occupational therapy
and diabetes education some of which are provided on a part-time basis
and with assistance from staff of other county facilities.
