The Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary strives to make health care in our community better by providing financial assistance to the hospital which in turn benefits patients, staff and visitors. Devoted volunteers ensure success of a number of projects including:
- The Highland Fling (Major fund-raising event held annually in May)
- Treats and Treasures Gift Shoppe
- Crema Coffee Shop
The Auxiliary is always looking for new members and is open to all men and women who are interested in actively supporting the hospital. The Auxiliary meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, 7:30 p.m., at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Annual membership is only $5.00 per person. The Auxiliary has representatives on the Cumberland Health Care Foundation and the Palliative Care Committee. The Auxiliary belongs to the NSAHA (Nova Scotia Association of Health Care Auxiliaries) and the CAHA (Canadian Association of Health Care Auxiliaries).
