With the signing of a special resolution on July 14, 1995, the North Cumberland Community Health Foundation was incorporated as a society and began its work in support of health care in the North Cumberland area. The Board of Directors meets quarterly with its focus being the acquisition of equipment and other items for the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash. The ten members of the Foundation's board come from across the area served by the hospital including Oxford, Wallace, Fox Harbor, Linden, Port Howe and of course, Pugwash. Recently the Foundation undertook a major project in funding the construction of a helicopter landing pad to serve the community. Located on a site adjacent to the hospital and East Cumberland Lodge (long term care facility), the total cost of approximately $35,000 was funded by the Foundation with design and engineering services provided by the Cumberland Health Authority. The Foundation's primary source of income is memorial donations. For further information, please contact:
