Volunteer....You'll Love how it makes you feel!

As with all communities in Nova Scotia, volunteers are the backbone
of the Cumberland County way of life and the Cumberland Health Authority
is very pleased to have a large number of dedicated people - both young
and old - volunteering in our various facilities. The CHA and the Cumberland
Health Care Foundation work in partnership to support the volunteer
program with the Foundation providing generous financial support to
the project through which a Coordinator of Volunteer Services was hired.
| Here is your chance to discover
the joy of helping people in your community! Earn the feeling of
accomplishment. Share your skills and learn new ones. Experience
the health care team environment first hand. Significant support
from the Cumberland Health Care Foundation enables the Cumberland
Health Authority to maintain effective volunteer programs at all
5 health care sites through the hiring of a part time Volunteer
Coordinator. |

Volunteers contribute in meaningful and concrete ways by comforting
patients and family members, informing and directing visitors, and providing
support to staff. All hospital volunteers are placed in positions consistent
with their own interests and time frames. If you have 2 - 4 hours each
week to devote to others, are over 14 years of age and want to make
a difference in someone's life, the Cumberland Health Authority is looking
for you! Pick up an application form at your local Cumberland Health
Care facility, print
off this form (PDF file), or contact:
