At the time of the creation of the former Northern Regional Health Board in the mid 1990's, the South Cumberland Community Care Foundation was created to administer an endowment fund that had formerly been managed by the Board of Directors of the community's hospital.
With a mandate to manage income from the endowment fund to support health care provision in the Parrsboro area, the Foundation has purchased a number of pieces of equipment required at the SCCCC. The major project undertaken by the Foundation was funding the construction of the professional centre located immediately adjacent to the hospital.
In addition to income from the endowment, the Foundation accepts memorial donations.
